Teach basic and intermediate computer courses to students from the villages around Singerkone.
About the role
The instructor will take daily classes at the Vivekananda General and Youth Computer Training Centres, covering computer fundamentals, word processing, spreadsheets, the internet and basic accounting packages.
Beyond teaching, the role involves preparing course material, maintaining the laboratory machines, keeping attendance and progress records, and helping students prepare for their certification examinations.
Most of our students are the first in their family to use a computer. Patience and a genuine wish to teach matter here more than advanced technical knowledge.
What we are looking for
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Recognised computer qualification such as DCA, PGDCA or BCA.
- Able to teach comfortably in Bengali. Working English is an advantage.
- Patience with beginners and willingness to work in a rural setting.
- Sympathy with the ideals of the Ramakrishna Order.
